In my defense, I really think Monday Magic works as a quirky weekly column. If you disagree, I will eat your fingers.

This week’s item is a fantastic find on Etsy, via Uncrate. It’s the perfect accessory for anyone that ever wanted to become a mustachio’d..anything. Currently sold out (because it’s genetically predisposed to being awesome) I plan to buy one as soon as they’re back in stock, and then apply for a position at Franklin Fountain. If they ask if it’s fake I’ll just twitch and make it move realistically.

This week in ‘addicting flash games that will get you fired from your cubicle job’, comes Sunny Day Sky.

Sunny Day Sky is a simple game that requires just a mouse click to play. Guide your little umbrella wielding cat through the skies and onto the roofs of cars, each of which grants you points. You’ll have to watch out for obstacles in the sky though, such as ducks, as well as bonuses, like floating apples. Just like real life!

Be warned, the game has some playful, adorable orchestral music. Make sure you have the volume off when you get ready to play.

We here at Geekadelphia love us some good editing. For the sake of the video linked here, we may want to note that a certain affinity for The Simpsons also accompanies us on a daily basis. That being said, this Quake 3 mod combines not only these two beloved elements, but also rocket launchers. Ooooh, rocket launchers!

“Spider-Pig” around the halfway mark doesn’t hurt either. We may be a bit late to the party on this one but it was just too good to pass up.

This adorable little puppy, who supplies us with endless comparisons to Lil’ Brudder from Homestar Runner, was born, alas, with no front legs.

Named Hope, this little Maltese puppy gets around using model airplane wheels as front leg and her hind legs to run around. She was taken in by a Maltese Rescue in Chattanooga, TN when she was only six weeks old.

It’s comforting that, in a world full of crazy people designing robots made for enslaving humanity, like robotic underwater sea snakes and bots with jaws that can crush anything, people are still making simple devices like these. Cuz seriously, the Big Dog Robot scares the living hell out of us. That’s one bionic puppy we want nothing to do with.

In a more perfect world, I would only imagine that the majority of people would have the vision, genius, and initiative that Jared Nielsen had when he sunk $2000 into remodeling his own cubicle.  The majority of the cost went into the chair and the LCD monitor, and rightly so.

Jared expresses the reasoning behind it much better than I ever would, so take a look:

I didn’t have time to craft a wittier title, so this is what I call my (hopefully) faithful weekly Monday Magic column.

Today we present you with Bacon Floss in all its meaty glory. It’s available through the venerable Archie McPhee online store (and I suspect the catalog as well) for only $4.95. Admit it, everything tastes better with infused Bacon flavor. With Bacon Chocolate, Bacon Lollipops, Bacon Vodka, and a ton of other Bacon-themed items popping up recently I started wondering “what WILL they think of next?” (Edit: McPhee also has Bacon Mints and Bacon Flavored Toothpicks.)

It’s a candle and an alibi all in one! You don’t smell like a stripper, you just smell like a candle.

This is our favorite candle. After hundreds of hours of research and a lot of dollar bills we succeeded in capturing the legendary stripper scent. If you don’t know what a stripper smells like just imagine the perfume counter at your local department store times a thousand… then add some glitter. This is a perfect gift for your favorite bachelor, groomsmen, or retired stripper who misses her pole.

Don’t you hate it when you have a piece of important paperwork on your bulletin board, but there is no way you can accurately express your loathing for it, short of crumpling it up and throwing it at your neighbor? Because hey, you need that damn TPS report. You can’t just chuck it anywhere.

Thanks to Chromoly, perhaps, one day, you’ll be able to take your anger out on your paperwork without completely destroying it.

Alas, the ends are not sharp like a ninja star, and are instead, thin pieces of metal like traditional tacks. These are currently prototypes, but here’s hoping they go into production in the near future. Cause those things are awesome.

Cosplay and Anime go hand in hand – and when those hands belong to a couple of fine female cosplayers, geeks everywhere rejoice.  Introducing Slobsofgaming‘s tribute to these geek-goddesses that someone should make a calendar out of.  Also, Eric, I took care of getting Samus’ contact info – I sent her an email on the Geekadelphia account pretending I was you.

Also, if any of these women happen to read this blog, you should come to Wizard World Philadelphia next weekend.  Ok, I’ll stop being creepy now.

There are a lot of terms you hear thrown around the office. Logging on, boss, getting fired… I know I’ve heard that third phrase several times in the past week, after I threw a stapler at my neighbor. She’s okay. Don’t worry.

Ever wonder where all these phrases came from originally? Check out the origins of the term cubicle.

Cubicle: Dating back to the 1400′s, this word stemmed from the Latin cubiculum, meaning “sleeping area” (completely apropos). It became obsolete after the 16th century, but it was revived in the 19th century as a word for “dormitory sleeping compartments.” Its use as any partitioned space didn’t surface until the 1920s.

Amazing! And to think, to this day, it still means ‘sleeping area’ for so many of us.

The Origins of Office Talk @ Neatorama
