Want a good alternative to the crowds at the malls and shopping centers on Black Friday? One local comedy theater has a solution: 40 straight hours of comedy!
The annual Black Friday Comedy Marathon once again takes over Philly Improv Theater in Rittenhouse Square. Co-produced by an ensemble of the city’s best comedians, improvisers, and sketch performers—including Nicole Yates, Alyssa al-Dookhi, Patric Ciervo, Kayleigh Liggitt—and executive produced by Tom Hannigan, the marathon promises something for fans of all sorts of comedy.
The marathon will kick off at 9AM on Friday, November 24 with a performance by the comedy troupe Neighborhood Watch on the Second Stage at the theater. Sketch performances, stand-up comedy routines, improv acts, and more will continue throughout the day and night, with occasional short breaks for theater cleaning.
Beginning on Saturday, November 25 at 4:15 p.m., the show will move to the PHIT Main stage performances by members of local stand-up comedy producers Laughs on Philly. From there, the marathon will blaze through to 1 a.m. on Sunday, November 26, closed out by comedy troupe American Express and the act Hoffman: Lights Out.
