Embark on your endeavors over at the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum this October for some outdoor fun that you and the family can enjoy!
Friday, October 6, Pop-Up Archery will start at 10 a.m. and end at noon. Set your sights and take aim at this popular event with USA Archery certified instructors as they demonstrate the arc of the arrow and the basics of the bow. You will learn the skill behind the thrill of nailing that perfect bullseye with the opportunity to give it your best shot. The event welcomes families with children ages 10 and up; registration is not necessary and no equipment required.
Saturday, October 14, Philly Fall Nature Fest lets families choose their own adventure with hands-on activities. Whether it’s building birdhouses, finding fish, hankering for hiking, kayaking the waters, or simply enjoying the great outdoors with food and live music, this totally free event prescribes guests with the coveted cure for cabin fever! As a part of the 4-week River Days event, you and your family learn about the Pennsylvania wildlife that lives among us through 23 environmental education centers and organizations such as Bartram’s Garden, the Center for Aquatic Sciences, Pennsylvania State Parks, and more!
