It’s been 27 years since Stephen King’s IT premiered on the small screen, terrifying an entire generation. Since then IT has become one of those rare made for TV adaptations that even today has a very loyal cult following. This new adaption by director Andrés Muschietti (Mama) takes the material, setting it in the 80s focusing the entire film on the “The Losers Club”, smartly chopping the narrative in half with another entry planned if this film does well.
If you’re not familiar with the book by Stephen King, originally published in 1986, IT is about a small town where every 27 years children mysteriously go missing. The children are taken by a shape-shifting creature, which uses fear to hunt them. A group of kids known as the “Losers Club” are hoping to stop the monster, whose primary disguise is as a creepy clown before another one of their friends go missing.
