We understand that you probably want to adopt all of the animals but sadly you can’t. BUT that doesn’t mean you can’t help the animals that are still looking for help and care. And local podcast and Twitch streamers, 240p Club are celebrating their one year anniversary by helping the animals today!
240p Club is a retro gaming podcast that started in July of 2016 and their Twitch channel is an extension of that. The group, which consists of Metallic Joe, Nikki Tuonela, John Filoon and Lord Kuddy, started the podcast and Twitch channel “because we’re all passionate about video games from the 80s and 90s and felt that it’s really a lost art form to make an amazing game with the hardware limitations designers had to manage with in the 8-bit and 16-bit eras.” Since they are all animal lovers and pet guardians, their initial meeting to start the podcast actually happened at Kawaii Kitty Cafe surrounded by adorable adoptable cats. “When our one year birthday came around, we decided to do a charity stream to celebrate. It was only natural to go back to where we started when picking out a charity to play for,” says Joe Capaldi.
Starting at noon, they will be playing through all 6 Mega Man games for the NES. During their entire stream, a donation button will be available for PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society), which will help homeless animals get adopted as well as provide low-cost spaying and neutering to pet guardians.
As for why Mega Man? “Mega Man is one of the most popular franchises ever. The ability to pick the bosses in any order you want naturally lent itself well to speed running (not to mention how much fun these games are!) Also, Mega Man turns 30 this year! We had to celebrate the blue guy, and a charity stream is an awesome way to.”
