Word of The Evil Within spread like wildfire in the horror community after an article on The Hollywood Reporter cast an almost Room like mystique on the film. With a production that was even more bizarre than its concept, it’s a film that horror fans are not going to want to miss when its screened at Tattooed Mom by Cinema Ray and PUFF (The Philadelphia Unnamed Film Festival), Tuesday, July 18th at 7:15pm.
The story of The Evil Within goes something like this, directed by Andrew Getty —of the Getty oil fortune; the eccentric heir sank over $4 million of his own money and 12 years of his like making the film. The film chronicles a mentally challenged boy whose dreams are haunted by demonic creature who orders him to embark on a murderous rampage, collecting the bodies in his basement. But that’s not it; Andrew obsessively worked on the film up until his untimely death in 2015 when his ex-girlfriend discovered his body in his mansion, with toxic levels of methamphetamines in his body. Now with that knowledge check out the trailer below:
After viewing that, how you could say no? Tickets are a mere $5 to gaze on this amazingness.
Along with the screening there will be free DVD giveaways from Philadelphia distributor Breaking Glass Pictures, and a discussion about the film moderated by Bond aficionado and writer at Birth.Movies.Death., Phil Nobile Jr..
