Matt Reeves returns for his follow-up to 2014’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, to continue the story where he left off with War for the Planet of the Apes. The film focuses on the war between humans and apes that was sparked in the previous film when Caesar was betrayed by his own kind in an attempt overthrow him. By the time Caesar figured out who was behind the plot it was too late as the war had already begun and this film chronicles that war as the apes continue to evolve.
Check out the official synopsis below:
Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless colonel (Woody Harrelson). After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both of their species and the future of the planet.
