Even if you don’t think you know of Eugene Mirman, in all likelihood you probably do. He’s the voice of Gene on Bob’s Burgers, the landlord on Flight of the Conchords, and appears on several of Adult Swim’s finest shows including Home Movies and Aqua Teen Hunger Force. And if you’ve never seen his standup you are doing yourself a serious disservice.
After immigrating from Russia at the age of four and majoring in comedy (a major he created himself) at Hampshire College, Eugene Mirman has become one of modern day standup’s most unique and utterly hilarious voices. His most recent album, I’m Sorry (You’re Welcome), was a massive 9-volume, 7-LP set including an hour of live standup, a guided meditation, and 45 minutes of crying. It also included an optional customized robe. I’m not remotely kidding.
Mirman will be joined by comedienne Maeve Higgins, co-host of Neil deGrasse Tyson’s StarTalk and frequent guest at the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival. She has also appeared on Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer.
