For those of you who make yourself mobile on two wheels with an engine. Parking can be a pain. The PPA is notoriously strict and nobody wants to park their precious motorcycle between two cars with dinged up bumpers. You’re just asking to have it knocked over. Enter, CurbNinja.
CurbNinja is a new app that highlights all the motorcycle parking in the city It’s rolled out in a number of cities: Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Portland, San Francisco, San Jose, San Diego, Sacramento, Seattle and Vancouver. CurbNinja has finally made it’s Philly debut. The app is free from iTunes or Google Play store and once you’ve downloaded it to your phone, you have access to information on where to find the best motorcycle parking in your area.
CurbNinja also features information from a community of riders. If you see a new spot that isn’t on CurbNinja’s map, there’s an option to make one and share with the rest of CurbNinja’s users. It will even differentiate between metered and free parking spaces. Not only that, you can find out which businesses are biker friendly. All of this is done through a simple interface.
I had a chance to meet Tim Hines, one of the creators while he was visiting our fair city. He was on a scouting mission to input all of our motorcycle parking spots in center city since there is no centralized database available to the public. That’s right, one of the founders wandered around Philly so he could input all the parking spots into the app so he could share it with you. That’s quite a lot of dedication.
Cruising around Philly on two wheels is an excellent way to get around and save on gas. With CurbNinja, you won’t waste your time looking for a safe spot and you can make sure your bike stays out of the PPA’s impound lot.
