Comic book conventions are expensive propositions. Finding hotel accommodations, purchasing tickets, ensuring that you have spending money in case the wares of any particular vendor catch your eye, the money starts to add up. Therein lies part of the appeal of the third annual Camden Comic Con happening at the Rutgers University-Camden Athletics and Fitness Center April 9. The all ages Con is 100% free and open to the public.
Camden Comic Con looks to introduce the city of Camden and the surrounding areas to the artistry and magic found within comic books of all varieties. Camden Comic Con will be held this year on the campus of Rutgers University-Camden in the university’s Athletics & Fitness Center.
The guest lineup for C3 includes comic industry icons such as legendary X-Men scribe and comic creator Chris Claremont; Jamal Y. Igle, winner of the 2011 Inkpot award for Outstanding Achievement in Comic Art; Kelly Phillips writer of the comic series Weird Me; Diana Leto co-creator and illustrator on Dark Horse Comics’ The Halloween Legion; and many more from within the industry. Panels, events and vendors help to round out the experience of C3 2016, with stands devoted to selling comics, graphic novels, and collectibles of varying degrees of rarity.
A recently announced Tabletop Gaming events hosted by All Things Fun! will provide entertainment and fuel competitive spirit by conducting these tabletop games in the tabletop gaming area of the convention.
