If Dilworth Park looks like a bit of a mess tomorrow, do not be alarmed. To celebrate the Season Five Blu-Ray/ DVD release of Game of Thrones, a dragon will crash land in the park, leaving a wake of destruction that rivals the Erin Express.
Beginning at 8am Wednesday, HBO promises an interactive crash site, with “dug up concrete, skid marks, dragon footprints, rippling smoke, crushed benches and more, all of which fans can visit for photos.” Fans are encouraged to use the hashtag #GOT5DVD to document the dragon’s rampage.
If seeing the evidence of the dragon isn’t enough for you, then clear your Wednesday night schedule. At dusk, a special 3D animated projection of a dragon will take flight across the city, in what HBO is calling the “Dance of Dragons.” The dragon will take off in the vicinity of City Hall, on North 13th and Market Streets, at approximately 8:15pm.
Philadelphia is one of four cities to receive a visit from the dragon, with New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles also on the itinerary. Game of Thrones: The Complete Fifth Season is available today wherever Blu-Rays and DVDs are sold.
