After freeing herself from Jabba the Hutt, Princess Leia took over his palace and threw a raging party. At least, that’s the story Atomic City Comics and Tattooed Mom’s are going with this Friday, when they team up to throw a Star Wars themed party at 8pm.
First things first, costume is in the name for a reason. Themed costumes are very strongly encouraged, and there will be a costume contest with cash and prizes. What’s more fun than watching droids, Sith, and Jedi all getting down together on the dance floor? Live music will be spun by The Imperial (DJ Foxx Boogie) with a guest spot by Red Leader (DJ Little King Trash Mouth.) The party itself will be hosted by the famous princess and Darth Satirical.
If you need a break from dancing, Leia and Satirical have provided even more entertainment. Themed photo booths and an opportunity to pose with Star Wars legend R2-D2 will make your social media the coolest in the galaxy. Joining this will be a raffle, and some surprises that have been kept more airtight than Episode VII.
Beatrix Deranged curates the themed art show for the event, including artists such as Miguel Co, Mila Milo, and Terrence Laragione, as well as many more. The art styles run the gamut, and there is sure to be something to please every fan.
What’s a party without refreshments? The Sweet Life Bakeshop and The Little Bird Bakery will both be on hand with delicious treats available. Tattooed Mom’s has created two drinks for the event: the Force and the Dark Side, which will run you $5 each, as well as $2 PBR specials all night long and half-priced drafts from 10pm-11pm. Just remember, overindulging leads to the Dark Side, so be responsible and get home safe!
