At this weekend’s Wizard World, it’s not just eye-popping cosplay and the chance to rub elbows with your favorite geek icons that will be worth your time. There’s a whole slate of panels and programming lined up for when you absolutely need to get off the convention floor and sit down for a bit—and believe us, that will happen. Thursday, May 7
Webcomics 101, 5:00 – 5:45 p.m., Room 103A
Former Geek Awards winner and presenter, Brad Guigar, author of How to Make Webcomics and The Webcomics Handbook will teach everything—okay, maybe not everything, but a heck of a lot—you ever wanted to know about launching a webcomic, from setting up your site to promotion to generating revenue.
All Things Pro Wrestling with WrestlingAudio.com, 6:00 – 6:45 p.m., Room 107
WrestlingAudio.com’s lead hosts, Mo Lightning & Ballz, will lead a discussion on the the past, present, and future of sports entertainment. Everything is fair game: WWE & NXT, TNA, Ring of Honor, and because this is Philadelphia, EC-f’n-W. You’ll also have the chance to win autographed goodies from your favorite wrestling superstars.

From Agent Carter to Avengers: Age of Ultron (and Groot)! Marvel Comics at 76, 1:30 – 2:15 p.m., Room 111
Nothing in geekdom is more mainstream now than the Marvel Universe. Authors and comic historians Peter Sanderson and Danny Fingeroth will present an illustrated history of the Marvel Universe, starting with the publication of Marvel Comics number 1 in 1939 and running all the way to today.
The Future of Online Games and Technology, 4:30 – 5:15 p.m., Room 107
Panelists Genese Davis and Garrett Fuller, along with a special surprise panelist, will discuss what foresee happening in video game and technology industries in the coming years&mash;and what all of us can do to shape the future of the industries.
Saturday, May 9
Cosplay! You Gotta Start Somewhere!, 11:00 – 11:45 a.m., Room 107
Are you ready to make the leap from cosplay fan to cosplayer, but not sure how to start? This panel will discuss issues like cosplaying on a budget and overcoming typical challenges for beginner cosplayers like body image and character selection.

The Joker Is Wild: All About Batman’s Arch-Enemy and Other High-Rolling Supervillains and Superheroes, 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., Room 109
Peter Sanderson and Danny Fingeroth, along with Mike Manley explore why gambling is such an effective vehicle for stories about good and evil, and why gambling characters like the Joker have achieved iconic status not just in comics, but in culture generally.

It’s no secret that we at Geekadelphia love us some Joel Hodgson. So we highly recommend you take the chance to pick the brain of the man behind the bots and hear stories of what really went down on the Satellite of Love.

Saturday Morning Cartoons: A 55 Year History, 1:00 – 1:45, p.m., Room 109
This year sadly marks the first year since 1960 in which no Saturday morning cartoons are being shown on the major broadcast networks. So this discussion led by Hanna-Barbera’s Tom Cook will be a loving requiem for our collective childhood. We recommend you head to this panel in your footy pajamas with a bowl of Froot Loops.
