If you’ve ever been to one of these, you know that it’s an event not to be missed. If you’ve never gone to one of these… well, you missed them, and shame on you.
This year’s Grand Slam will be hosted by none other than Corey Cohen, and will feature an incredible line up of storytellers from this year’s many slams at L’Etage and World Cafe Live, including Steve Clark, Kat Duggan, Dave Hillis, Devon Kreider, Justine Parks Cuny, Teresa Marquard, Matthew Miller, Anissa Weinraub, Marjorie Winther, Freya Zork, and Andrew One-Of-My-Favorite-People Panebianco.
Yes, that is his real middle name.
As for the celebrity judges, Philly’s best storytellers will be judged by Elisabeth Perez-Luna from WHYY, Kristen Tripolitis, Jared Scott, and Meg Dibley from Red Tettemer O’Connell + Partners, and Kathleen Volk Miller, Dan Driscoll, and Bryan Dickey of Drexel University’s Painted Bride Quarterly.
It’s quite the line up, and the winner will walk away with $250 cash, and the title of Best Storyteller in Philadelphia. For more information on the Grand Slam, visit First Person Arts’ official website.
Good luck storytellers, and I’ll see you there!
