When you think of comic book conventions and the cities they take place in, the first ones that usually come to mind are San Diego and New York, big metropolitan hubs that people look forward to going to each and every year.
Camden? Not so much. I mean, I didn’t even think Camden had a comic book convention.
But thankfully I have been proven wrong. Because on Saturday, April 5, at the Rutgers Camden Campus Center they will be holding the first ever Camden Comic Con, sponsored by the Rutgers Camden Center for the Arts and the campus’ Art Students League. There you will be able to experience a day of comics and pop culture for free. Yes, you read right, the show has free admission to everyone.
Guests include Philly’s own Brian JL Glass, Rob Kelly, Bob McLeod, Mark Poulton and many more as well as a ridiculous amount of local talent just waiting to meet you. In addition, you’ll also get dealers, panels and all the bells and whistles that make up any great comic book convention.
The doors will be open from 10:00AM to 4:00PM and did I mention that admission is free? Cant get a better deal that that.
So get ready, head across the river and get your geek on, Jersey style.
