Tuesday, January 21 – Intro to Web Concepts
If you are a complete beginner to coding and/or want to learn how to communicate better with your technical team/friends, this workshop is for you. In this class, we will walk through the fundamentals of web development in layman terms. While we won’t be writing code, we’ll take you through various components of the web and how they work together.
Tuesday, January 28 – Landing Your Dream Job in Tech
Join Marina Rakhlin, to learn more about how to get a job at a startup, how to negotiate the terms of your contract and what to expect once you are on board of the startup roller coaster!
Wednesday, January 29 – Creating a Killer Resume
You are putting time and effort into learning new tech skills and if you really want to land a great job, there are two things you must add to your portfolio: a killer resume and impressive interviewing skills. Very few people have either. But both of these are much easier than you may think!
Tuesday, February 4 – Fundamentals of Typography
Are you interested in becoming a better designer? The first step is expanding your knowledge of one of the most fundamental elements of web design: typography. A strong grasp of typography is an essential skill for a web designer because 95% of the information on the web is written language. While mastering typography can take a lifetime, this class will provide techniques and guidelines to help you create beautiful, readable typography.
Saturday February 8 – WordPress 101
This class is for beginners wanting to learn about using WordPress as a framework and content management system for a blog or website. You can arrive knowing nothing about WordPress and will leave knowing how to start up, build and manage a site.
