Game developers, get ready – the Philadelphia chapter of the IGDA has announced the next Philly Game Jam. Running 48 hours – from 6PM Friday, November 1st to 6PM Sunday, November 3rd – this year’s jam will be hosted at Cipher Prime’s studio.
This year’s jam will be digital only, with the theme to be announced that Friday evening. Unlike Global Game Jam, teams of three to five must be registered beforehand. Space is limited, and teams have until October 21st to register.
It costs $5 per person, and while meals must be covered by each person individually, Cipher Prime hopes to have snacks and water on hand. The jam is BYOT (bring your own tech), so be sure to bring everything you need to make your game (their example was: “if you have a portable mocap lab that you want to bring to the event, BRING IT!”).
This is the fifth annual Philly Game Jam, and the first to be hosted at Cipher Prime. I, for one, can’t wait to spend 48 hours with the best game developers around. To register, go to the Philly Game Jam registration site. For more information, check out their digital jam info page.
