This summer, forget about Superman, Captain Kirk, and a very questionably cast Tonto. Instead, focus your moviegoing experience on content that is far superior than anything currently being released by Hollywood: found footage!
On Monday, July 15, Video Pirates will host its first-ever “Video Party” at PhilaMOCA. The event, which is free of charge, will treat audiences to a variety of video footage that was never intended for mass audience consumption. Highlights of the July show will include everything from home movies to horror-themed workout videos. At future shows, you can expect to feast your eyes on such gems as vintage Saturday morning cartoon previews and fast food training videos.
You have to admit that the idea of, for example, an Arby’s training video is far more appealing than, say, “Despicable Me 2.”
The monthly event, which will be held every third Monday at 7:30PM, is a follow-up to Video Pirates’ successful April performance and subsequent DVD release.
