Parks and Rec fans, get excited. Ron Swanson is coming to Philly!
Ok, not really. But Nick Offerman, the actor who plays Swanson, will be stopping by at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby on his American Ham tour in September.
Offerman advertises the tour as a “veritable smorgasboard of cautionary tales, tunes, and tips.” The show will open with a performance Nancy and Beth – a band starring actresses Stephanie Hunt (of Friday Night Lights) and Offerman’s wife Megan Mullauly (aka Karen in Will & Grace and Ron’s ex-wife Tammy in Parks and Rec).
It’s not going to be your traditional stand-up. (In a Boston Globe interview, Swanson described himself as a “a foul-mouthed, less-educated Garrison Keillor.”) Offerman will also be sharing his “Ten Tips for Prosperity” (like: “engage in romantic love” and “carry a handkerchief”). Oh, and maybe some woodworking tips. Because, fun fact: like his character Ron Swanson, Offerman has a knack for crafting with wood. Actually, it’s more than a knack – Offerman runs his own woodworking business.
