Mobile reading was a total gamechanger for our weary bookish commuters of Philadelphia. It graciously alleviated the pain and heartache of choosing just one book to bring with you on your way to work and helped to avoid dozens of awkward conversations about elbow room for unfortunate middle seat riders everywhere.
This month, the Free Library announced that it would launch a Virtual Free Library at Suburban Station where commuters could download a hand-selected smattering of the Free Library’s digital archives–currently, about 50 different titles that can be downloaded via QR code.
You can find the Virtual Library on 70 advertising boards within the Station. But borrowing e-Books from the Free Library isn’t something exclusive to commuters. The non-commuting bookworms of our fair city can just as easily borrow e-Books and ePub format books from the Free Library simply by having a Free Library card.
To all you card-carryin’ members, we salute you!
