Every film in this program is a Philadelphia Premiere, having previously played such festivals as Cannes, Fantasia, PiFan, Sydney Underground, and Fantastic Fest.
I got an advance look at some of the films screening in the program and here a few highlights to look forward to after the jump!
Adjust Tracking is a well-crafted throwback to the days of be kind, rewind. It’s a smart 5 minutes that seemed to be equal parts Creepshow and V/H/S in how it mixed the old with the new. I really enjoyed this short and think if you’re also a fan of the old-school VHS resurgence currently happening this will definitely be right up your alley as well.
Tale of Obsession
Tale of Obsession is a dark comedy about one over weight girl’s obsession to land the boy of her dreams. While the film path of the film is easy to follow, its well-acted, well shot and a lot of fun to watch.
This nightmare-inducing short is strange meditation on death and sex through the medium of stop motion. These crude figures tell uncomfortable story that will probably leave you speechless at the end.
Meat Me In Plainville
This sort of mockumentary short is a fun but strange look at a future where we are what’s for dinner. When a town decides to stop the consumption of human meat things get a little crazy as the folks aren’t happy with their new vegetarian status. This short is a lot of fun to watch.
While this one seems more like a music video than a short film the gritty dark cinematography is simply amazing. The film is the first chapter of a multi-media collaboration with the Southern Gothic band Mississippi Witch.
The total running time for the program is 109 minutes and advance tickets for the event are $10 and can be picked up here.
See you there!
