Freeman’s Auction House, America’s oldest auction house, is hosting an evening of poetry this Tuesday. This is the same place that hosted that amazing Darth Vader mask auction. It’s a free, open to the public event at the historic building, and will feature a number of local literatis.
Poems will be read by Freeman’s Alasdair Nichol (who you might have seen on the Antiques Roadshow), Temple University English Professor Sheldon Brivic, Apiary Magazine Editor-in-Chief Lillian Dunn and a number of others.
In addition to the reading, a number of beautiful rare books, maps, manuscripts, and prints will be on exhibition from Freeman’s upcoming April 4th and 5th auction. This includes a handwritten letter by President Lincoln and an early map of Philadelphia from 1678.
See you there!
