Cadence’s New Watch, An Ode to Human Rights & Marriage Equality

From the makers of such timekeeping greatness as the Fibonacci and Binary watch comes something a little different—the Equality watch.
Local watchmakers, the Cadence Watch Company, originally began in Cambridge Massachusetts with a patented sports monitor specifically for rowers. After their move to Philly almost 10 years ago, the company has branched out with fashionable and decidedly geeky designs inspired by the city’s awesome creative community.
Cadence’s newest watch is an ode to human rights and marriage equality. Each hour is marked with the iconic “=” symbol, with the 12 o’clock hour horizontally oriented. Conceptualized by designer Daniel Burke, the effect is visually subtle while still making a powerful statement. It’s super stylish while still getting the message across. Love it.
They were kind enough to send me one of my own, and being a bit of a watch nerd myself, I was very impressed with the quality. The watch comes with a black or blue face in a stainless steel case with a black saddle-stitched wrist strap. It retails for the extremely reasonable price of $125 and is available online at cadencewatch.com.
