One fish, two fish, birthday blue fish! The Free Library is celebrating the birthday of beloved children’s book author, Dr. Seuss this week. Grab a few Green Eggs and Ham and pay a little homage to the man who always knew you’d’ go places in life.

Monday Poets | APIARY Magazine and Nathalie Anderson
We love APIARY and you should too. Fostering the local literary scene in Philadelphia is something very near and dear to my heart so this is way high up on my recommendation list! APIARY will be hosting a discussion with award-winning author and educator, Nathalie Anderson.

Mohsin Hamid | How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia
International bestselling and award-winning author, Mohsin Hamid, will be discussing his new novel which tells the story of a rags-to-riches youth in the water industry.

Wednesday Matinee Screenings
Based off of Scottish author Muriel Spark’s novel, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie will be screening at the Philadelphia City Institute this upcoming Wednesday to celebrate The Friends of The Philadelphia City Institute’s monthly theme of teachers.

Unknown Japan Film Series
Cinedelphia and the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia are teaming up to screen popular Japanese films never to be released in the US. (English Subtitles)

Constructed Narratives by Donna Globus
This is the last day to check out book artist and printmaker, Donna Globus’ exhibition at the Central Library’s Print and Picture Gallery. The exhibit will feature prints and books by Globus that explore the functional and artistic role of the printmaking process.
