Minor Threats K-6 Chess Team Need Your Help!
Since the sixth century, chess has been a game of skill of intelligence reserved for only the geekiest of board game warriors. It takes a keen mind to manage all the different aspects of the game from predicting your opponents moves to enacting your own strategy for absolute board domination.
A team of budding geeks and chess warriors need your help. The Minor Threats K-6 chess team from Philly, in addition to having an awesome name, are looking to raise enough money to compete across the state and nation. They need just $900 in order to compete for glory in the state finals this March in Carlisle, PA. But the real challenge is raising the other $4,000 to get them down to Nashville, TN in April to play their hearts out and maybe even bring back some gold trophies to Philly.
As a team, these kids have already proven themselves to be chess playing savants that could easily take down Watson. They’ve won over 20 trophies and awards between them, but now it is your chance to help them make the big time.
You can donate to their Go Fund Me here. Every little bit towards their goal will help these deserving kids get their shot at chess immortality and bring a bit of geek glory back to Philadelphia.
Donate now! Do it for the kids! Do it for Philly! Do it for GEEKS!

Hi,
Thanks for this write up. The kids are super excited for these trips. Tomorrow we have our semi-final match in the Philadelphia Scholastic Chess League.
