If you are a fan of the local publisher Zenescope and their Grimm Universe titles, you may have noticed that, ever since the first issue of Grimm Fairy Tales, something has been missing. It hasn’t been obvious, but it’s been there, a hole in the world they have built that just seems… off.
And you may also have noticed that over the last year, the Grimm Universe has become a more cohesive place, with events and situations leading into one another with more regularity, almost like there is a plan afoot. It began with the Dream Eater Saga and has continued, with the overreaching feeling that something was coming. Something big.
It turns out that the answer to both questions has been answered with the announcement of Unleashed, the mega event hitting the Grimm Universe this summer.
In it, you will watch as the famous creatures of the horror genre make their Zenescope debut, including vampires, zombies and werewolves. They have been freed from their long imprisonment by someone known only as “The Being” and have been unleashed on Earth. And now only a handful of Monster Hunters, including Sela from Grimm Fairy Tales and an all-new female Van Helsing, have a chance of stopping them before time runs out.
According to Zenescope Editor-in-Chief Ralph Tedesco “We’ve wanted to bring classic but updated horror monsters into the Grimm Universe for a while and we came up with an all-encompassing event that would allow us to introduce a lot of great new characters in a captivating way. Fans are in for something they never would have expected to see in Grimm and they’re going to absolutely love it!”
The entire event will run for 24 issues and will include a main miniseries as well as several giant-sized comics and miniseries. So prepare yourself; Unleashed hits in April 2013.
