They Live on 35mm @ The Colonial Theatre Friday!

This Friday, January 18th The Colonial Theatre is screening the John Carpenter classic They Live on 35mm for one night only at 10:10pm as part of their Cult Cinema program. I am a huge John Carpenter fan and I use to watch They Live every time it came on HBO, which was quite a lot back in the day. So it’s safe to say I can not wait for this screening.

If you’re not familiar with They Live, the film follows a nameless drifter referred to as “Nada”, who discovers the ruling class are in fact aliens managing human social affairs through the use of a signal on top of the TV broadcast, concealing their appearance and subliminal messages in mass media.

Tickets for the screening are $9 and there will also be some great giveaways there as well as a sweet custom screen printed poster for the event by Chris Garofalo over at Quiltface Studios, which you can see at the top of this post.  See you there!

I love this damn movie. It’s my #1 favorite movie that features an awkwardly long fight between Keith David and Roddy Piper.
