When you think of Christmas time, there are certain things that always come to mind: fruitcake, A Christmas Story and Frosty the Snowman are just a few. But one story that is forever associated with this time of year and has been seen and read by more people that any other is A Christmas Carol.
The timeless story of Ebenezer Scrooge and his night spent with the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future has been told and retold for generations. Everyone from Bill Murray to Patrick Stewart has played the role and the original book by Charles Dickens is the definition of the word “classic”. And now performer Josh Hitchens is going to put his own unique spin on the story.
Hitchens will perform the entire story as a young Charles Dickens and put the focus on the more eerie aspects of the story that most fans forget is there. I mean, the cast of A Christmas Carol is mostly made up of ghosts if you think about it. And the historic site of The Physick House is the perfect venue for this type of retelling of this seasonal mainstay.
This is a one night only performance; taking place on Sunday, December 9th at 4:00 PM. Tickets are only $15 for adults and $5 for the kids. If you are looking for something a bit different to do this Christmas that will put you in the spirit, A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas should do the trick.
