A John Waters Christmas @ the Troc [Contest]

Christmas is coming early for Philadelphia, because on Thursday, November 29th, The Trocadero will be hosting the critically acclaimed one-man show A John Waters Christmas.

John Waters himself, the director behind such bad-taste classics as Pink Flamingos, Hairspray and Polyester, will be spreading some Yuletide cheer in the form of rapid-fire monologues that will show his very unconventional take on the holidays.

I’m a huge fan of John Waters. His films and writings were a huge influence on me and definitely contributed to my love of all things film. If you have read any of his books or seen John Waters speak at all, you have an idea for some of the brilliant insanity you have to look forward to and I honestly can’t wait.

There are 2 flavors of admission to this show a $39.50 for a regular admission and $99 for a VIP that will get you into an early meet and greet with the director. You can get tickets here.

In keeping with the holiday spirit, the fine folks at the Troc were nice enough to give me 2 pairs of regular admission tickets to give away to 2 lucky readers. That’s an $80 value folks. Want to win? Simply email me, or comment with a video, photo, essay to show me why you are the Filthiest Person in Philadelphia and the biggest John Waters fan who deserves to see John Waters for free.

So send your emails to [email protected] with the subject line “Filthiest in Philly”  or comment below and make John proud!

Winners will be announced Monday, November 26th.

I love John Waters! Sadly, the only thing I can say for being the Filthiest Person is that I garden without gloves because I love the feel of dirt in my hands and nails. Lame, I know. But at least I’m honest! :)

My brother & I are lifelong John Waters fans! I remember going nuts trying to find a bootleg copy of the Diane Linkletter story for him for Christmas years ago-but I did it! I wear my filthiness on the inside, but I need tickets to this even more than I need Cha Cha heels! If I don’t win, ahmina ruin stomp the presents, ruin Christmas & rape myself (unless Lobstora beats me to it!)

    Hi Dan,

I have never seen John Waters in person but I would be sure to put on my filthiest clothes if I had the opportunity.
I absolutely love all of his films and Desperate Living is at the top of that list. My very favorite line in the movie; “I wouldn’t suck your lousy dick if I was suffocating and there was oxygen in your balls!”

Thank you for considering me to win these tickets!

Lol, wrong movie. Taffy sez that line to Dawn Davenport in Female Trouble, not Desperate Living. A great Desperate Living line is Mink Stole’s rant: What do you think this is, a Communist Daycare Camp?!? Tell your mother I hate her! Tell your mother I Hate You!!!

Whoops! I’m so busy being know-it-all geek that my correction was incorrect. Guess I shot up too much eyeliner this morning!

You are right Sean! My bad. Anyway, that is one of my favorite Mink Stole quotes as well. The beginning of that movie is the best.
