Trek or Treat with The Roddenberries

With a name that sounds like the nerdiest breakfast cereal ever created, The Roddenberries have one noble goal: to merge Star Trek with rock and roll.
So to, um, boldy go where no other Philly band has gone before, they will be bringing their mayhem to Underground Arts for what they describe as “of science fiction pop-rock multi-media super-fun, with special appearances by the Klingon Empire, red shirts, Vulcans, and “MEESHA,” Philly’s dazzling star of international bellydance fame!”
Oh hell yes.
Band members include such Geekadelphia favorites as Andrew Geller (who also edited Alpha Girls), Beth Kellner and Scott Johnston (whose Spider-Man Cabaret a few years back was the stuff of Philly Fringe legend), Billy and Joey Tayoun, Ned Sonstein, Chris Unrath, Hoagy Wing and the Legendary Wid.
After the Trektastic music wraps up, you’ll want to stick around for a screening of the locally filmed Twilight Zone spoof The Twilite Room.
The Roddenberries are masters of musical mirth, and this event will be a cool (and decidedly nerdy) addition to your pre-Halloween festivities. Besides, if nothing else it will definitely be better than watching Enterprise repeats.
Philly needs more sci-fi/comedy musical nerdiness, so head out and support this act. As cliché as it sounds, I personally hope this group lives long and…well, you know.
