Academy of Natural Sciences Celebrates Bicentennial With Scavenger Hunt

SEPTEMBER 8th 2012: With clues and games planted all throughout several different locations in the city, The Academy of Natural Sciences will be hosting a Bicentennial Scavenger Hunt this September the celebrate its long history.

Teams can be from two to four people. Teams will have four hours to complete at least five challenges–including physical challenges, solving clues and games. The use of cameras and cellphones is not only encouraged in each challenge, but considered a MUST.

Each challenge will teach participants a little but about the history of the Academy of Natural Sciences. The challenges will not be timed and teams will choose the order and exactly which challenges they perform. However, teams will be judged on a points scale and the more challenges each team completes, the more opportunities they will have to collect points.

Check back with Geekadelphia over the next few weeks as the Academy may be plotting mini hunts prior to the Scavenger Hunt for free entries to the main event.

The Scavenger Hunt will be held on September 8th, 2012 beginning at 8:00a.m. for check-in. $20 for Members and $25 for non-members. For more info, visit the Academy’s official website.
